On this day, October 18th of 2016, I posted the first blog post for QiBee & Tees!!! Happy Anniversary!
Some think I am creating and selling the tees myself, but I don’t. This all began with an idea.
The Conception
I love captioned tees. Like seriously, I buy them all the time. Some of my favorite shops are:
I always wanted to be a blogger. I posted to Facebook Notes before when that was a thing. I posted a few blogs on Blogger years ago talking about my Spiritual Encounters and Mission Trip to Kenya. However, my blogging remained very inconsistent.
So I had this idea to post about the tees that I had collected over the years. I always purchased the ones that I related to anyway. Why not just use the tees as inspiration for each post? And that’s what I did. This also gave me an excuse to buy more! *Evil Laugh*
The Release
I, like most creators, was extremely nervous about sharing this with the public eye. I mean, I thought it was a cool idea, but what if others did not? What if nobody read it? What if my words didn’t make sense? What if I made a biblical error? What if…
The “what if” fears captured my thoughts for a few weeks. But God is greater than my fears. I sat down with the big Man upstairs and outlined my level of success for this blog. I do not measure my success by number of views or subscribers. Those numbers are awesome and the more the merrier, but my worth and self-esteem is not wrapped up in the increase of a following. I measured it based on encouragement. If one person was encouraged, then I gave thanks to God. If one person that related to my struggle was prompted to see God in a new way, then it is worth it in the end. The heavens rejoice when one soul comes to Christ, repents and accepts salvation. I will do the same respectively.
If you are a creator and are hesitant about promoting something or sharing it with others, here’s some advice for you. Define your success. We often define our goals and other parameters that are measured according to someone else’s standard of success. Define your own level of success and use that as confidence to unleash your craft and reach your truest potential.
The Future
These past few months have been really challenging for me. I have the tees and I have the thoughts, I just don’t always have the adequate time. With my new job, I have the opportunity to travel, meeting new people and seeing new places. However, I hope to start blogging regularly again come November 2017. Pray for me as I continue to walk in obedience at work and with this blog. I enjoy it and hope you do too!
